Astronaut Camp

This summer Owen had the opportunity to go to Astronaut Training Camp up in Ogden. I was really nervous to send my boy off to a camp by himself for a week, but he was really excited and he had a really great time! We dropped him off and got to see a little bit of the school where the camp took place and meet some of his leaders. Can you tell he doesn't love it when his mom takes his picture? Ha! Then we left and his adventure began.

On Friday we were able to go up as a family to his graduation from camp. There was a little awards ceremony and then Owen was able to show us everything they did at camp. That poor kid needed a haircut so badly...

He showed us where all his missions were and what his responsibilities were. Here's the cockpit.

He was flight surgeon during one of his missions. he showed us the candy medicine they had.

And the rockets they launched.

And here is the front of the cool school where they held the camp. How cool is that?

He had a great experience!

On our way home we stopped by Jordan and Sammy's house in Centerville. It was Sammy's birthday and we brought her some flowers and her favorite dirtball cookies from swig. We had dinner with them in the back yard and roasted S'mores too.

It was a beautiful night and we had fun with some of our favorite Andersons.
