Cute Girl

Olivia spent at least 30 minutes the other day pouring over the American girl catalog that arrived in the mail. She even went and found these tabs in my desk and marked every little thing she wanted. I just keep smiling when I see this. I love my liv.

The Countdown Begins

IMG_0385Cheryl gave us this cute countdown decoration and this year Owen wanted to do the honors. I thought he did such a cute job, making a zero into a wreath and drawing the nativity too. I had to snap a picture and share.

Numbers

This year after the Thanksgiving Day races, we took pictures of the kids sitting on the number of their age. It wasn't until after we finished taking pictures that we were told we couldn't climb on the numbers. Oops. :)

Thanksgiving Day Races

This year Nate and the kids each had a race on Thanksgiving morning. Nate ran the 1/2 marathon, Owen ran 1 mile and Olivia and Jonah did a 50 meter dash. It was really fun for everyone and they each finished with a medal and a t-shirt! It was a beautiful morning too!
The kids and I stood by the finish line with our signs for daddy:
Here is a picture of each of them after all the races were finished. We loved cheering each other on!

Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot

I think by now we are up to the 6th Annual Turkey Shoot at the Puzey's! This year they really brought it. Look at those costumes!!
I love a man who will dress up like a Turkey, run, dance, and do cartwheels (!) all for his kids to shoot at him with paintballs. Swoon. :)

Science Experiment

Owen and I have been checking out books about science lately. We decided to try making our own baking soda volcano. Much less dynamic than the real thing, but still a fun afternoon.

We did another science experiment the other day. My kids (especially Owen) love to do little experiments. This one was easy and fun. We put the primary colors, RED, YELLOW & BLUE into 3 glasses. I put warm water into the glasses and let the kids put in a few drops of food coloring. Then we put 3 empty cups between these 3 full cups.
We put a piece of paper towel, folded in half lengthwise until it was about 1-2 inches thick. Then we waited. The colored water is absorbed up the paper towels and into the cups.
It took several hours for the water to make it's way, but eventually the cups were all half full and the colors ORANGE, GREEN & PURPLE were added. It was a fun and easy science project!

Ragnar Tennessee 2012

The League of Average Runners: with average power comes average responsibility.
These guys rocked the Ragnar this year. This is only half the team and I only have pictures sent to me on my phone but it was quite an adventure. As always. :)
