Personal Progress

I am currently serving as the Young Women's President in our ward. One of the projects I have been working on this year is my YW Personal Progress. I started working on this so I would understand what the girls are doing and how best to help and support them in this goal. It was a really great experience! I finished all the requirements and was able to receive my Young Woman Medallion alongside 3 of the YW in my ward.

Here is how I set up my little table. I'll explain the details. I put the Granite T shirt on there because one of my big projects was serving as PTA president. I put the recorder on there because another project was hosting a Talent Show for our cousins at Christmas where we each shared a talent. I dusted off my elementary school recorder talent and played a Christmas song. The stethoscope, license and CPR certification are for a few projects I worked on: getting licensed to practice as a PA in the state of Utah, and logging my 100 CME hours. The picture is of Rosa, my Portuguese Mother. A woman I lived with on my mission. She was a widow and had no children. Some of those missionaries who lived with her have been helping with her temple work. I was able to find out how to get working on her family history as one of my projects and took some of her family names to the temple.

And here I am looking all sweet with my medallion:

It was such a neat experience. I felt a little timid up there getting my medallion too. I didn't want to take anything away from those girls who have worked so hard. But it was a beautiful night and I was so grateful to be a part of it!
