Christmas Eve with the Anderson Clan

This year for Christmas Eve we went to Nana & Papa's house for a big breakfast dinner, a program and a gift exchange.

We did the program first. Each family was given a portion of the Christmas story and were asked to present it in any way we wanted. We were given the Wise Men part. We decided to have the kids read part of the scripture, to show a short video about how the greatest gift we can give him is our heart, and to share what we did as a family in December. We put a gift box under our tree at the beginning of the month and each day we put in a Christ-like kindness or act we had done that day as our gift to Christ. We brought our gift box filled with small slips of paper and read a few of the things we had done during the month to focus on giving our hearts to Christ for Christmas. Then Owen played the piano while we sang a Christmas Hymn.
After our program, we had our delicious dinner together with the whole family. We took a few family photos while we were all gathered together.

After dinner we did our gift exchange. We let all the grand kids give their gifts to and open their gifts from Nana & Papa. This year I gave the kids the money from Jill to pick out and wrap their own gifts. They loved it! I must remember to do this again! Then Nate and his siblings exchanged gifts with each other and their parents. It was a lovely night.

Then it was home to get every present wrapped and ready for Christmas morning!
