Labor Day 2016

The kids and I had such a fun time on our day up in the Uintas this summer with our friends that we wanted to take our dad up there and show him all the cool placed we had explored. So over Labor Day weekend, we loaded up our new kayak into the car and headed for the mountains.

Our first stop was the Fairy Forest. This place has such an interesting story. It just sort of cropped up over the last few years. People go up and build little Fairy gardens, houses, and other fun things. It has become a really huge, sprawling Fairy Metropolis. It's a fun sight in the middle of the forest up in the mountains.

I'm glad we were able to go see this fun and magical place, because it is going to be dismantled soon. It is part of the Uinta National Forest and I know this isn't a trend they'd like to see cropping up in all our National Forests, so we understand their reasoning. We are just glad we got to see it in it's prime.

Beyond the Fairy Forest, we found more beautiful places to climb and explore. I just love watching kids play and explore in nature.

Our next stop just up the mountain from the Fairy Forest was Provo River Falls. This is the head of the Provo River and is such a fun place to climb and play.

The geography is just beautiful. The rocks are like stairs.

Lots of throwing rocks and making splashes in the river.

Look at this sweet one of Charlotte. Love it.

After Provo River Falls we headed up to Trial Lake and pulled out our new kayaks. It was a beautiful day! I love the mountain in the background of the lake here. So pretty. Here is Owen setting out on the lake.
We had a great day as a family up in the mountains! Thank you God for such a beautiful world.
